7 Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar For Beautiful Hair

Using unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) for treating the scalp and hair is very beneficial. It’s dirt cheap, very simple to use, and will make your hair shinier, easier to manage, and smoother. Here are some of the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar:

  1. Provides dandruff and itchy scalp relief.

Apple Cider Vinegar kills the “bottle bacillus” bacteria that is responsible for clogging hair follicles promotes dry crusts formation that itch and flake. This bacteria is one of the main causes for itchy scalp, dandruff,  hair loss and even baldness.

  1. Prevents split ends problem.

ACV smoothes hair’s cuticle which helps to prevent split ends.

  1. Serves as a great hair conditioner.

ACV rinse, when used as a follow-up to baking soda, seals cuticles, reduces frizz, gives hair more body and makes strands shinier.

  1. Used as hair loss remedy.

ACV treats clogged hair follicles by removing bacteria which creates crusty flakes on the scalp. This stimulates hair growth and prevents hair loss.

  1. Improves hair porosity.

ACV’s acidity helps to seal the hair cuticle which allows hair to absorb and maintain more moisture.

  1. Used as clarifying treatment.

ACV removes product build-up from styling hair products without stripping hair of its natural oils.

  1. Used to balance pH.

Use of shampoo increases hair pH. ACV is perfect for bringing hair pH back to its ideal pH of 4.5 to 5.5.

How to Make and Use Apple Cider Vinegar

Dandruff and itchy scalp treatment.

Apply full strength ACV to the scalp, rub it  in, leave it on for 30 to 60 minutes and then wash your hair.

Making Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse.

Mix one part ACV into one part of filtered warm water. Shampoo your hair and then apply vinegar rinse. You can then rinse it immediately or, for extra conditioning, you may leave the rinse on your hair for a few minutes and then rinse it with water.

You can keep the mixture in a plastic bottle in the shower, so it is convenient to use when needed.

It is a natural hair care remedy and can be used once a week or as needed.

You may notice a slight vinegar smell right after rinsing, but do not worry – it will completely disappear as you hair dries.

Washing hair with baking soda and ACV rinse.

Dissolve 1 tbsp of baking soda in 1 cup of water (this is for short hair, double the proportions for long hair). Wet your hair and pour the mixture over your head and rub into hair. First, rinse with water, then rinse with ACV mixture and then rinse with water immediately.
